On November 5, 2015 we welcomed our most precious gift to the world. After a wicked fast labor & delivery Blaire Madisyn came flying into the world. She weighed in at 8 lbs 14 oz and was 20 inches long. She was perfectly healthy, praise God.
Blaire arrived at 1:26 a.m. and I think I started planning her first birthday party almost immediately. Don’t get me wrong, it is not that I wanted time to speed up so she could turn one, but I wanted her party to be an absolute celebration of her first year of life. When you think about all that our babies accomplish in that first year of life it is truly amazing. They go from being completely innocent and dependent to having their own little personalities (in Blaire’s case very feisty) and walking around. And I think that kind of accomplishment needs to be celebrated in a big way. After all, they deserve it.
From the very beginning Blaire had been and independent little woman. Her laughter is contagious and she is fearless. She posses a true wild at heart spirit. So, naturally, we had to pick Wild One as the party theme. And after many, many, many trips to Hobby Lobby, lots of crafting and hot glue gun burns (ouch) we had pulled together a great little bash for this girl.
As I mentioned above, most of the decorations were from Hobby Lobby. The giant tissue flowers were by Martha Stewart and I found the kit for them at Jo-Ann Fabric. The cupcakes and cake were made by a local bakery here in Montana, and the cake topper and streamers were a DIY.
We partied hard and napped even harder. And all in all, it was a great day celebrating our sweet little one year old.
As always, thank you for joining us on this crazy adventure!
